A high-level delegation led by Lt. Gen. & Dr. Suharyanto, Minister of National Disaster Management Agency of the Republic of Indonesia, visited CMEC Emergency Industry Co., Ltd. today. The visit included a tour of the facilities and a symposium focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation in disaster management and emergency response.

Accompanying Minister Suharyanto were key officials including Mr. Richard Erlangga (SA to the Minister), Mrs. Irma Rismayati (Director of Foreign Affairs), Mr. Abadi (Adjutant to the Minister), and eight other delegation members.
The delegation was received by Mrs. Ding Jie, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Mr. Wang Bingfeng, Executive General Manager of CMEC Emergency. Other prominent roles present were Mr. Han Weibing, former Military Attaché of the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia, Mr. Dai Shizhong, Chairman of Yingke Law Firm Indonesia, Mr Gunawan Kwan, Chairman of Inam Kikkim Association, and his wife.




Indonesian Commitment to Learning and Partnership
Minister Suharyanto expressed appreciation for the hospitality received in China. Highlighting Indonesia’s significant disaster challenges in 2024, including over 3,600 incidents of earthquakes, floods, volcanic eruptions, and forest fires, the Minister emphasized the department’s eagerness to learn from international best practices.
“We, as Indonesia's national professional emergency rescue team, actively seek exchanges with advanced countries and regions,” stated Minister Suharyanto. “China's rich experience in emergency relief, technological advancements, and effective mobilization of state-owned and private sector resources during major disasters are particularly valuable for us.”
The Minister outlined key areas for potential collaboration:
1.Establishing direct cooperation between the Indonesian national disaster management agency and China’s counterpart.
2.Deepening the exchange of emergency relief expertise and experiences.
3.Exploring the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on emergency rescue cooperation.
4.Facilitating high-level mutual visits, joint exercises, and personnel training.
5.Enhancing technical equipment support, potential procurement, and technology transfer to bolster Indonesia's emergency response capabilities through visits to Chinese manufacturers.
Minister Suharyanto concluded, “Given the excellent state of Indonesia-China relations, this visit marks a promising beginning. We are confident it will pave the way for more extensive and profound cooperation in the future.”


CMEC Emergency: A Strategic Partner
Mrs. Ding Jie and Mr. Wang Bingfeng extended a warm welcome to Minister Suharyanto and his delegation, describing the visit as a “milestone” in advancing comprehensive emergency management cooperation between China and Indonesia.
They provided an overview of CMEC Emergency, a national high-tech enterprise established in 2020 and managed under China General Technology Group (CGTG). As one of the first 98 state-owned enterprises supervised by SASAC to focus primarily on the emergency industry, CMEC Emergency operates as a mixed-ownership platform integrating R&D, production, asset management, and capital operations.
The company holds ISO certifications for Quality Management, Environmental Management, Occupational Health and Safety Management, IT Service Management, and Information Security Management. Leveraging CGTG’s strengths in advanced manufacturing & technical services, medical & healthcare, and trade & engineering services, CMEC Emergency aims to serve national and regional needs in building a robust emergency industrial system and advancing emergency equipment and informatization.
Mrs. Ding and Mr. Wang stated that CMEC Emergency will actively implement the spirit of relevant national policies. “Under the strategic guidance of our nations’ leaders and leveraging this ministerial visit, CMEC Emergency will fully utilize its unique role as a central SOE platform,” they affirmed. “We will form dedicated task forces to contribute wisdom and strength towards implementing the China-Indonesia Joint Statement on Advancing Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and Building a Community with a Shared Future, particularly in strengthening disaster reduction cooperation.”




Significance of the Visit
Mr. Han Weibing, accompanying the delegation, expressed his honor in facilitating the visit. He was impressed by Minister Suharyanto’s strong commitment to China-Indonesia emergency cooperation. “CMEC Emergency attached great importance to this visit, promptly reporting to relevant departments and meticulously arranging all aspects,” he added. “This year marks the 75th anniversary of China-Indonesia diplomatic relations,” Mr. Han remarked. “Minister Suharyanto's visit initiates comprehensive emergency management cooperation between two countries and is expected to further promote friendly cooperation between both nations and militaries, adding significance to the anniversary celebrations.”





Successful Exchange
The productive symposium concluded in a positive atmosphere, featuring an exchange of gifts and a meal. The event was also attended by Mr. Gunawan Kwan, President of the Yinan Foundation, and his spouse, as well as representatives from Guangzhou Nanfang Surveying and Mapping Technology Co., Ltd., CMEC Emergency staff members Mu Yinan, Guo Li, and Wei Leipeng.
